TRAGEDY: Two Tourists Lose Their Lives in Road Accidents

A woman from Germany died in a road accident yesterday morning just outside of Dubrovnik. Devastating news arrived also from Mljet Island where a Kiwi lost his life due to head trauma after falling from a bicycle. 

Two tragic road accidents, one in Dubrovnik and the other on the Island of Mljet, took the lives of two tourists from Germany and New Zealand.

A truck hit a couple from Germany on a BMW motorcycle on the motorway in Dubrovnik. The woman died and the man was taken to hospital with no evident severe physical injuries.

On the Island of Mljet, around 4 pm, a man from New Zealand lost his life after falling off his bicycle into a 10-foot deep chasm and suffering head trauma. The 39-year-old Kiwi was cycling from the village of Polače and lost control over the bicycle. Police confirmed the man was not wearing a helmet. Polače is located in Mljet National Park.
