Filming Europe, the Association of European Film Commissions, is promoting for the first time in history the award for the best European location in the cinema and TV industries from the last 10 years.
Two Croatian towns, Dubrovnik and Kaštela, have been nominated for Filming Europe Location Award.
The award is part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Association and aims to celebrate the diversity and multifaceted nature of European locations.
'Dubrovnik, Croatia, the Medieval dream of everybody who would like to see himself with a helmet in the head and a sword in his hand fighting for the Seven Kingdoms. This city was loved just by the begin by the Game of Thrones’ producers because it was as eternal as they couldn’t imagine; they thought it was the perfect one to immortalize the legendary King’s Landing in a place where the present mix inevitably with the past on the eternal walls of the old heritage of the Republic of Ragusa,' organizers explain.
During the first phase, each Filming Europe member submitted one location from its country and a jury of experts selected by Cineuropa drew up the final shortlist.
Now in this second phase the audience has the chance to vote for the best location from among the 11 in the shortlist, by simply filling in the online form. You can do so from 11 September to 25 October.
Don’t miss the opportunity to vote and visit the best filming location in Europe!
And that’s not all: from among all the voters, Filming Europe and Cineuropa will pick a winner who will have the chance to visit the winning location! The winner will benefit from 2 nights of accommodation for 2 people, which will be offered and used in agreement with the film commission of that area.
