The strike is to take place on 8 August during the peak of the tourist season unless demand for higher salaries and better working conditions are accepted by the Board.

Croatia Airlines Worker's Union decided to strike because they have not agreed in a new collective agreement with the management, Croatia Total News report.

"We wanted to avoid the strike, but we have no other option of fighting for our rights," emphasizes Suzana Artukovic Vuksan for Jutarnji list.

"I am deeply sorry for such unnecessary and unreasonable behaviour that will cause unforeseen damages to the company. I affirm there was no obstacle to the negotiations, but the union blackmails in order to increase already great rights. Moreover, the rights of flying staff in CA are far greater than what we are obliged by the international conventions, " CEO of CA Krešimir Kucko says.
