NEW SUBVENTION MODEL Franković Insists on Cheaper Plane Tickets to Capital
Throughout the years, mayors of Dubrovnik have been lobbying for more economical fares as Dubrovnik area is fiscally split from the rest of the country - people of Dubrovnik have to pass through Bosnia and Herzegovina and two border crossings.
In order to improve the position of the people from Dubrovnik travelling to Zagreb, mayor Mato Franković warned the Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and announced renegotiation with national air carrier Croatia Airlines.
Croatia Airlines is a state-owned flag carrier and is the only one to connect Dubrovnik and Zagreb. There is no low-budget or any other company operating the mentioned flight.
So far, citizens of Dubrovnik could get 250 kuna reimbursement for return Dubrovnik-Zagreb flight. The subvention did not apply to other citizens of Dubrovnik Neretva County but only those living in DUbrovnik.
